MEET YOUR COACHES
Lewis started playing goal at an early age and has played all his football at a semi-professional level.
He started out at Altrincham youth F.C where he reached the late stages of the FA youth cup, won two league titles and three cup competitions before moving onto Bamber Bridge F.C, Curzon Ashton F.C, Rossendale United F.C. After that he got scouted to play in America on a scholarship, whilst here he won goalkeeper of the week three times from all of the teams in Arizona. He also had a record of keeping 10 clean sheets from 18. This was an invaluable experience. Whilst playing over in USA he coached the university goalkeepers and worked for a coaching school where he would coach children from different towns all over Arizona Lewis has been coached by Fred Barber (Ex Bolton Wanderers and Northern Ireland goalkeeper coach)Dave Felgate (Ex Wales goalkeeper and now Manchester City Goalkeeper coach) and he states that this has given him alot of playing and coaching experience. I have been able to collect their coaching skills and use them to develop other goalkeepers. He has also trained alongside goalkeepers such as Jussi Jaaskelainen, Richard right, Adam Bogdan, Kelvin Davies and more, so he states he knows how hard you have to work to train with professionals. Since joining Just4keepers Lewis has traveled to Japan, South Africa and America to run goalkeeper camps for J4K. He has also helped many of his students get trials and sign for such clubs as Blackpool F.C, Manchester City F.C, Stoke City F.C, Preston North End F.C and more.
Dany spent most of his career at Club Brugge, having played professional foorball into his 40s.
Having arrived at Club Brugge K.V. from Lierse S.K. in 1988, Verlinden gained first-choice status in his second year. He ranked the second most capped player for the club in the first division, trailing only Franky Van der Elst. Dany was instrumental in the side’s five league conquests (with the addition of as many cups and nine supercups).
In December 2003, Verlinden became the oldest footballer ever to play in the UEFA Champions League, aged 40 years and 116 days. Alessandro Costacurta of A.C. Milan took over the record on 21 November 2006, when the Italian played in a 0–1 group stage defeat at AEK Athens F.C. aged 40 years and 211 days. Verlinden, however, held the European record for longest time spent in goal without conceding, managing to keep a clean sheet a total of 1,390 minutes in the Belgian league between 3 March and 26 September 1990.
After his footballing career Verlinden remained with Club Brugge, as a goalkeeping coach. He played once for Belgium, and was called up for the squad at the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups
Dany is now on board as a Just4keepers goalkeeper coach.
