I am a bit nervous writing this as it is my first ever post on the Just4keepers site. I’m very excited to be bringing the J4K business to the Channel Islands, initially in Jersey then over to Guernsey in the future. I am looking to hold some free sessions in March to demonstrate what J4K is all about and allow you to meet me and then start the clinics in April. I am in the process of finalising the venues, times and costs so please watch this space!
I have been a GK since the age of 12 and have loved being a goalkeeper. Its a position I have felt most at home (probably because I am useless as an outfielder!) It is commonly said we are a mad bunch of characters but I feel a goalkeeper needs to have an outgoing personality to succeed. They must not hold any fear in talking to the other 10 outfield players, they must not be shy at going strong into a 1 on 1 scenario, and they must be confident in their own ability because it can be a lonely place. However for the lows that you encounter the many highs you will feel will bring some level of parity.
I look forward to meeting all sorts of characters of all ages and abilities and one thing is for certain we will learn a lot about the position, we will work hard, but most importantly, we will have plenty fun along the way.
Now back to watching the Manchester City vs Barcelona game – let me know what you think about the performance of Joe Hart and Marc-Andre ter Stegen!!
