Here are 4 easy steps that as a goalkeeper you should be doing automatically. This will make your job a lot easier between the sticks.

 

1. Set or ready position – knees slightly bent, weight forwards hands ready!

2. On your toes – be slightly moving and bouncing on your feet. This will help you react that little bit quicker.

3. Off your line – make sure you are off your goal line to narrow the gaps between you and the posts and make the opposition shoot around you and hopefully wide!

4. Check your posts – look at both posts to see if you are leaving a huge gap on one side which the strikers will easily aim for.
