Goalkeeper Training in Wigan
Chris started playing football for a team called Robin Park FC aged 9, playing on a Sunday morning in the Wigan youth and district league when he was spotted by an Everton FC scout aged 11. After being signed on he spent four years at Everton before being released aged 15 and was then offered a 2 year YT contract at Bradford City. During his time at Bradford Chris was loaned out to Liverpool FC academy to play in the under 17s AEGON Future cup, the teams in the tournament included Barcelona, Bayern Munich, AC Milan and China’s national side.
After the tournament he returned to Bradford where they had an excellent FA Youth Cup run, beating a Southampton team that included Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers and James Ward-Prowse on penalties before being knocked out by Preston North End.
Chris was released by Bradford in 2011 and spent the first part of the 2011/2012 season without a team before joining up with the Glenn Hoddle academy. After a week training and working with ex pro Dave Beasant at the academy he returned home and began the search for a new team, finally signing for Ashton United who play in the Evo-Stik Premier League. Chris signed for Radcliffe Borough FC in September 2013, winning the Young Player of the Year award for the 2013/2014 season and again for 2015/2016. For the 2016/2017 season Chris has signed for Skelmersdale FC.
