Where do we start with Jim? Jim has been a legend in the game for the past 3 decades and is one of the most respected goalkeepers to come out of Scottish football.

Jim started his career in 1977 for Aberdeen where he spent over 10 years as their first team goalkeeper. Jim then got a move to premiership giants Manchester United when his old boss Sir Alex Ferguson signed him.

After five years at Manchester United, Jim move back to Scotland signing for Dundee before moving to Hibs were he stayed for 5 years before moving to Aberdeen in 1997.

Throughout his prestigious career Jim also had loan spells at Arsenal, Reading and Sheffield United.

Jims honours include:

4 Scottish cup medals
2 Premier league titles
1 Scottish league cup medal
1 European cup winners cup medal
1 European super cup medal
91 Scotland caps

Jim also played in the World Cup in Spain 1982. Mexico 1986, Italy 1990 and France 1998. He also played in the Euro championships in England 1996

Jim has played a staggering 955 professional / International games!

As well as a fantastic playing career, Jim also boasts an envious coaching career which includes:

Aberdeen Goalkeeper Coach 2000-2009 responsible for under 10 to 1st team.

And to date he is the Scotland U21 2002 GK Coach and the Scottish FA tutor who is responsible for creating all coaching levels from level 1 to professional level and assessing candidates on each course.

If this was not enough, Jim was awarded and MBE in 1999 and inducted into SFA hall of fame 2008.

Needless to say, any young keeper who is lucky enough to be taught by Jim is certainly in the safe hands of a legend!
